Himachal Pradesh is a small state with population of around 70 lakhs. This procedure is adopted to select candidates for Himachal Pradesh Admin. Service examination (HPAS), Himachal Pradesh Judicial services(HPJS), Himachal Pradesh State forest services(HFS) and forest rangers.
2. Recruitment through written examination
This process is adopted for promotion of existing employees to higher posts. They need to qualify in the written examination to get promoted to higher level.
3. Screening test and interview
This process of recruitment is taken up whenever there are large number of candidates for a particular post. They have to get through the screening test and then they are subjected to interview. The selections for the posts of Medical officer, College lecturers, District public relations officer, Engineers in various departments etc… are done by adopting the above method.
4. Recruitment process through interview
Wherein the number of candidates are less when compared to number of posts available ,the selection will be done based on the performance in the interview. The candidates for the post of Assistant professors in medical colleges, Director/Assistant director in Sainik welfare board etc are recruited based on their performance in the interview.
